THE TEAM

2017/18 Committee

President - Mika Cook
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Mika is currently in her 4th year at Edinburgh studying Celtic & Scottish Literature. She is also the Student Liaison Officer for the Society of Young Publishers Scotland, and wishes at least once every day that she wrote 'The Discovery of Heaven' by Harry Mulisch.

Vice President - Ardith Bravenec
Originally from Mississippi, Ardith is a graduate student studying volatiles in the early solar system. Find her work in Hobart, Maudlin House, Paper Darts, DIAGRAM, Event Horizon, and The Best Teen Writing. She strongly supports the Oxford comma and has mixed feelings about proper nouns.

Editor-in-Chief - Saskia Solomon
Saskia is a fourth year English Literature student. An occasional journalist and novice campanologist, she is constantly on the look out for new and exciting things to get involved in. She likes fiction as strange as life, and life stranger than fiction.

Treasurer/Drama Editor - Kirsten Knight
Kirsten is in her second year studying English Language. She tweets sporadically about book-related things from @kirstenmknight. Please send her lots of drama submissions! Fun fact: she once jumped off a 50 foot cliff into the North Sea. On purpose.

Secretary/Copy Editor - Hannah Crawley
Hannah is a third year English Literature and Philosophy student. If you can't find her hunched over a book in 50 George Square, she will most likely be stroking dogs in the meadows, or knitting in bed. Hannah is very ashamed to admit that she's never read the Harry Potter books but loves the films!

General Editor - Sarah Donachie
Sarah is a fourth year English Literature student who can be found more frequently than not found making studies more bearable in quirky Edinburgh cafes. She's also vaguely related to the first actor of Albus Dumbledore.

General Editors - Eilidh Sawyers
Eilidh is a third year Linguistics English language student who spends a lot of time thinking about words. She reads books about metaphors for fun and is often making or eating a lot of curry.

Prose Editor - Snigdha Koirala
Snigdha is a third year English Literature student. She's loved The Inkwell since first year and has recently transitioned from being the Secretary to the Prose Editor. Help her keep this love affair strong by sending her an inordinate amount of prose to read!

Poetry Editor - Georgia Leslie
Georgia is a third year English Literature student originally from Orkney. She is already so impressed by the submissions she’s received so far for this issue of the Inkwell and can’t wait to see what else people come up with for the theme r(evolution)! In her lack of spare time she can usually be found napping, preferably in a patch of sunlight like a cat.

Head of Design - Stephanie Jin
Stephanie is a third year English Language and Literature student. Her idea of balance is going to yoga and then devouring a double cheeseburger, and will shove a nugget in your mouth if you say that’s not how it works. Catch her in George Square running late for class or on Instagram @xtephanix.

Media Editor - Theodor Mihalcea-Simoiu
Theodor has been passionate about creative writing since the 10th grade in high school and has been working to improve ever since. He enjoys photography and constantly looking over what people like to see on social networks, which makes his job as a web editor a great time. Surprisingly, he’s a second year student in Electrical Engineering with Renewable energy.
